Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per fess Or and Gules, a bunch of grapes leaved and slipped counterchanged and in chief a projectile fesswise Sable.  Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Gold scroll inscribed VAYA CON DIOS in Black letters.

Symbolism
The colors red and yellow are used for Artillery.  The shell, also representative of Artillery, is for one of two battle honors awarded for service in Central Europe and the Rhineland.  The area of this service and the other battle honor is represented by the grapes, a charge of common occurrence in both Central Europe and the Rhineland.  The motto translates to Go With God.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 7 June 1955.
